Who We Are

Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann (pronounced “kol-tus kyol-tori air-in”) means Gathering of Irish Musicians, often called Comhaltas for short.

Comhaltas was formed in Ireland in 1951 for the purpose of the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music. The headquarters is in Dublin and there are hundreds of branches around the world.

This is the Los Angeles branch which has the name Ceol Na nAingeal (pronounced "kyol na nang-el") which means Music of the Angels.

Comhaltas Seisiún

Fourth Sunday of the month ---- 1:00pm - 4:00pm ---- First hour for beginners.

At 2pm on February 24 2018 a meeting took place at MacLeod Ale House in Van Nuys, California.

The intent of the meeting was to establish a branch of the Irish organization Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. The purpose of Comhaltas is to promote traditional Irish music, dance and language around the world.

After much discussion on the pros and cons of being a non profit organization, an election was held for members of the Board resulting in the following:
